If you time this along with a visit to the grocery store in Marlinton, you can get most of your food shopping done at reasonable prices. The River Place is a nice place for dinner while in town. Family style with local cooking overlooking the Greenbrier river. It is located at the intersection of 219 and 39 across the bridge.

Elkins Country Club (1 hour north)                                               Elkins, WV                     9 Holes

Elkins is the largest city nearby and is about 1 hour north. Elkins is a major center for the area and of course has the only Walmart or Kmart along with a large variety of restaurants.

Mountain View Golf Club (1 hour west)                                           Webster Springs, WV    9 Holes

Webster Springs is about 20-30 minutes beyond the swimming hole at Whittaker Falls or about 30-40 minutes beyond the trout farm on the way to the swimming hole. You continue on the same road per the directions in the intro letter and through the small town of Bergoo until you reach Rte 15. At Rte 15, turn left towards Webster Springs.
